I had the chance to meet the young guy in the "vlog" below. He is an example for others his age and anyone interested in entrepreneurship. Simple solution for an overlooked problem. Hopefully, this will inspire or motivate you to make your dreams reality. Don't let it discourage you. Don't degrade yourself by saying "I'm not doing anything with my life." Ask yourself, "what am I doing with my life?" . The answer may very well be "nothing" or "not what I want to do". If you don't like the answer, start there and make the necessary changes to begin planning and building the future you desire.

Are you experiencing some clouds in your life? Do you feel that all your sunny days have gone away? Don't worry. Don't fret because too many sunny days brings about drought. Cloudy days bring the rain. we need the rain to live and maintain. During painful or painless times water is needed to survive. As moisture builds in the atmosphere it evaporates into the clouds. Once the cloud gets so heavy, rain must pour down.

So, if you are going through a rough patch of tough times, stay ready because the rain is coming to pour down on the seeds planted and pour into thirsty spirit for refreshment. The rain is not a problem it is the blessing to help you grow, develop, thrive in order to stay alive. The rain is your favor pouring into your life so your garden can thrive and grow. God wants you to live abundantly thriving like a vibrant healthy garden.
Look at you then, and look at you now. Don't let this cold, cold world bring you down. -Jadakiss
The poems in this text deal with social issues, personal experience, and life perception. The purpose of this work is to encourage others to learn to communicate effectively by helping create positive habits of reading, writing, and communicating effectively. Why poems? Well, poetry has been an interest of mine for most of my life, ever since I learned to read. I also enjoy music; the power of the message in music intrigues me. Public speakers such as teachers, preachers, and others have grabbed my attention many times because of the person’s ability to effectively communicate the point clearly and concisely. So, I have decided to combine education, communication, and entertainment in poetry to make people think and think differently. With so many mediums of communication, people often overlook the power reading, so I created small packages of powerful information crafted to make you laugh, cry, and learn. Ultimately, I want you to think and be more inspired about your existence. I hope you can find your purpose, and unleash your passions to produce the life envisioned for you. Hopefully, this book is a true page turner for you. May you find value between these pages because my intention is to lead, motivate, and educate others in order for us all to elevate to the level in life for which we aspire.
Have you ever heard of "All Pro Dad"?
You can learn more about this wonderful program at http://www.allprodad.com/ .
I have been participating in this program for four years now and it has given me guidance courage and clarity on being a dad and having special moments of quality time with my son and my daughter. Both by kids are highly excited to attend the All Pro Dad breakfast held at their schools. They eagerly ask and encourage me to attend the breakfast each time they are held at their schools. I am also excited to attend the breakfast with them. Friday September the 11th the breakfast was held at my daughter's school. The topic was being unique; I had to do the speaking portion. On this occasion the I asked dads to come up and say some positive about their child or children. I was filled with joy the way the dads spoke about the children. Then I ask the children to say something they like or enjoy doing with his or dad. Several children, including mine, came up to speak. Each one spoke very well; I failed to mention that these are K-2 grades of children. One child in particular came up and had some stage fright. I was able to calm him down by placing my arm around him turning him to where he did not have to look at all the people looking at him. Then he was able to express how he enjoys fishing with his dad. Then he gave me one of the biggest hugs ever and would not let me go. He happily shared and was overjoyed that I helped him get through his stage fright episode. This was a very humbling, proud moment for me. I felt much joy at that moment and felt very proud to be an active father that takes moments to be involved with children. Moments like this matter; they mean the world to children and fathers. Be involved and stay involved in the lives of children they need true parents and role models.Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01638136632833481990noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1269576409362122235.post-75510093169607605462015-08-01T10:35:00.001-07:002015-08-01T10:35:27.334-07:00Wisdom Lessons Notes:The Richest Man In BABYLON

Upon Hearing Neil Kennedy speak years ago I purchased both these books from him, met him spoke with him and had the opportunity for him for him to autograph my copy. The text explores the 5 Passions of Authentic Manhood. Neil Kennedy delves into: 1. An Adventurous Spirit; 2. Entrepreneurial Drive; 3. Gallant in Relationships; 4. Faithful in Character; 5. Philanthropic Cause. This book is a must read for men, young men, and boys. The text calls for men to be the true stand-up leaders that GOD intends them to be.

The text discusses two lines of reasoning. One of the authors biological working dad; and the other his rich dad who was an entrepreneur that owned businesses. While the book provides insight from each dad, it also teaches the following lessons:

Lesson 1: The Rich Don't Work for Money

Lesson 2: Why Teach Financial Literacy?

Lesson 3: Mind Your Own Business

Lesson 4: The History of Taxes and the Power of Corporations

Lesson 5: The Rich Invent Money

Lesson 6: Work to Learn---Don't Work for Money

The book also begins to gets into overrcoming obstacles, getting started and provides some useful "to do's".

There are the remaining works on the list that I will discuss further in future posts. All these books have valuable knowledge that can help focus your vision to light beacon or a laser beam to your success

I have read many books, but these that I will list have been so very special to me that each must be shared. There will be blog posts about each as I continue to share, but for now I will provide you with the list of several helpful books. I have written a book of my own entitled "Write On, Right On". This book is a collection of poems written by myself that focus on many social issues and life experiences. The purpose of the book is to provide motivation, inspiration insight and encouragement to learn more and live better.

The List:

The Five Star Man, By Neil Kennedy

The Five-Star Man Field Guide, By Neil Kennedy

Rich Dad Poor Dad, By Robert Kyosaki

Contagious: Why things catch on, By Jonah Berger

The Ultimate Gift, By Jim Stovall

The Purpose Driven Life, Rick Warren

Nigger, By Dick Gregory

The Autobiography of Malcolm X: As told by Alex Haley, By Malcolm X

The Malcolm X text is one of my all time favorites because the insightfulness and detailed accounts of the intriguing life of Malcolm X. It disappointing how his life and principle perceptions are overlooked by many. It is jaw-dropping how much he witnessed experienced and endured in his lifetime. Dick Gregory's book is just as gripping and intriguing, for it details his life from a youth to an adult and all the negative experiences and troubles he experienced or encountered. Me telling you about does not give you the real deal about these books, so I urge you to begin reading. I promise when you pick them up you will not be able to put them down. These texts are true page turners that give insight about life for black people and connects the past to the present and provides warning about the future.Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01638136632833481990noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1269576409362122235.post-80082262760550514522015-07-10T06:14:00.004-07:002015-07-10T06:14:56.340-07:00A GOOD Name
A good name is a theme that has constantly presented itself to me. Reading the 45 Day challenge of The Fivestarman, a book that accompanies Neil Kennedy's Fivestarman book. In the book on Day 4 the text challenges men to read a chapter of Proverbs everyday until the book is complete. Chapter twenty-two begins by stressing the importance of a good name.

Then on today my father sent me an email with two true stories about "Easy Eddie", Al Scarface Capone's attorney and again the theme of the importance of having a good name appeared. Years ago my father told me, "a person has three names: the name they are given, the name you are called, and the name you make for yourself". The name you make for yourself make a good name worthy to be known, passed along to future generations. A name that is respectable, one that unites, inspires, and impacts others calling a person to action, is created through a long intense process that makes the name memorable. Think of your names and the many things that you have done. Does it make you proud? Do you feel esteemed? Are you working toward a goal aspiration or destination? Do you have anything to talk about? Can you share your story in its entirety? Is you name already ruined? Can it be restored? Think of your answers to these questions. Take action to change the answers if any of your questions are "no". If your answers are "yes" continue to build your name and write your name. Also, share your story and what you know; be a true genuine role model; understand that we are all unique and that there are multiple makes and many models. Be true to the role model in which you illustrate because we are all teachers that teach in a variety of modes, mediums and methods.

These are the two stories that I mentioned in the text of this post:
June 19 2015 was a great day of remembrance, realization, recognition and celebration. People came from near and far to learn, love and celebrate emancipation of slaves. The Opelika community joined together to engage and embrace community in unity or unison. The Friday night events included performances of songs, poetry, and a play. The host, which was myself, shared four inspirational, insightful, illustrative, poems entitled: 'What is -ment?', 'Hooked', 'Amazing' and 'New News'. Jan Morgan Canada shared one of the most amazing poems I have ever heard entitled: "Who Are Your Folks, Who You Be".The talented Oscar Penn performed a medley of songs with a familiar sound but with a unique special personal and spiritual message. Paul Crook sang a song that touch not only my spirit but also moved everyone present at the Juneteenth Flex at The Plex event. Kid GotIt performed a hip-hop song that encourages everyone to wake up an realize how important it is for everyone to unify and relentlessly promote and engage in positive activity that encourages stronger, healthier and wealthier community. The play Suicide highlighted the message that black on black crime, ignorance, the unhealthy uneducated lifestyle and negative attitude is suicide to black people. Collectively the event went off without a hitch despite several technical difficulties from the sound team. Saturday, June 20th festivities concluded the Juneteenth weekend with a parade that began at Bethesda Baptist Church went through downtown Opelika ending in courthouse square. The 2015 Juneteenth celebration was definitely something to witness. Great people joined forces for the greatest good. Keep up the "Godwork"; there are people that care enough to share engage and support what is important right to propel and promote positivity for the well-being of the world.

Extra special thanks to everyone involved in making GEMS Empowered Inc. 2015 Juneteenth celebration a major success!

Change is a challenge that we must face head on. We can't go over, under or around it. We must go through it to improve the quality of life we seek. Robert Kiyosaki breaks down why it is important to control your check he provides three simple reasons why some are content where they are and why others may never meet their maximum potential. Three reasons summarize why it so challenging to make the necessary changes.
In life steps are taken to carry out courses of action. The steps taken leads us down paths both familiar and unfamiliar. Missteps, often caused by scotomas, may cause one to fall or fail to complete courses of action. Life teaches us lessons in the strangest ways to show that focusing with a clear mindset on proceeding down a clear path. This morning as I was leaving for work I realized exactly how people fill themselves with duties responsibilities and problems that will likely cause them to take a misstep. As I was leaving for work my neighbor was leaving for work as well. We both were focused on what each had to get done today. I had to get groceries out of my wife's car from a morning grocery store run. I was focused on unloading my car full of groceries so I could go to work and my neighbor was focus on loading her car with laundry for the cleaners so she could go to work. Suddenly I hear "OOOOhhh", my neighbor had fallen and I did not notice because of my focus of on my situation. A passing driver stopped to ask if she was O.K. She replied: "I missed a step". Thankfully she was fine. She had fallen to the pavement of the sidewalk but the mound of laundry for dry cleaning that she was carrying broke her fall. I was embarrassed because even though I could not have prevented it, I should have been more aware of my surroundings. Also, she too had lost focus of the steps of the path taken to get her day started. If leaving her house there is one step that must be taking off the short porch. From this I took that overburdening oneself will likely cause a misstep or blunder; always being aware and focused on our course of action in order to be sure we don't take a misstep. Also, the fall is not always a soft landing; it may very well be hard, sharp, or rigid.

End thought: Pay attention, WATCH YOUR STEP! One misstep could be fatal!

There is little question that technology use in training is on the
rise and is here to stay; however, few would argue that throwing technological
components into training programs just to appear "up to date" is
wise. Strategically and thoughtfully applying technological components to
enhance the impact and/or measurabilitiy of training solutions is what any good
trainer strives for.

For this assignment, begin by thinking about the various training technologies
outlined in Chapter 8 of the Noe text and in the required article. Consider
what impact these technologies are having and will continue to have in training
and development environments.

Choose FOUR technologies or technological advancements used in
training, as described in Chapter 8 of the Noe text and in the required
article.

Conduct online research (in the Walden library or other reputable
site) to find ONE additional article or resource that highlights the use of
technology for teaching or training purposes.

Training and technology continue to rapidly develop to
enhance train effectiveness. A trainer, educator, team leader or coach must

communication and innovation. Noe describes blog, Wikis and shared media to facilitate
learning. “A blog is a webpage where an author posts entries and readers often
can comment.(Noe 320 )” The web log discuss topics relevant to the writer and his
or her audience to share insight and feedback pertaining to the relevant issue.
“A wiki is a website that allows many users to create edit and update content

It also is posted where it can be easily located and used as needed. Some other
examples are Google+, and Flickr. Any of these technologies help trainees collaborate

“Blended Learning combines online learning, face-to-face instruction, and other methods for distributing learning content and instruction. companies to provide information about new products, policies or procedures as well
as deliver skills training and expert lectures to field locations. (Noe 347)” Virtual
classrooms, teleconferencing, interactive distance learning, webcasting and web

alternative settings. In closing it is important to “keep in mind, these tools
can provide a wide range of benefits for agencies, such as: Clarity when building

with the changes that occur in technology is important to get the most from
learners, trainees or employees. “Blended learning has been found to be more
effective than face-to-face instruction for motivating trainees to learn and for
teaching declarative knowledge or information about ideas or topics” (Noe 338).

As
illustrated and explained in Chapter 3 of the Noe text, a needs assessment is
the first step in the design of any training program and consists of
organizational, person, and task analyses. For this activity, assume that you
have been asked to perform a needs assessment for one of the following companies:

What
questions would you ask (and to whom would you address them) during the
organizational, person, and task analysis phases?

Choose ONE
of the above companies, and spend some time exploring it online. (Note: You may
choose an organization that is not on this list, if you prefer.) Try to get a
sense of the organization's products and/or services, consumers, management
philosophy, and strategic objectives. Based on this, how might you approach the
needs assessment? Specifically:

How, if at all, has your attitude changed throughout this course?

My attitude about project management has been changed or altered to realize how critical effective efficient project management is to the progress and success of the project. Throughout this course being exposed to the variety of resources and necessary resources to prepare for projects, start and finish projects. Personally I realized my current professional role as college Instructor and Computer Lab Manager that duties of the project manager are done in theses settings. The knowledge gained is a true asset to the success of impacting students, colleagues project teams ID roles and future projects.

· How do you see project management blending with the instructional design process? How does it apply to the ID context?

Furthermore, project management and the instructional design process parallel or overlap in practice despite having some different terminology. They both require careful detailed planning. Failure to plans results in a plan to fail. The preparation measures taken will pay off before during and after getting the project in motion. Managing the 5 variables, which I was not previously knowledgeable about will help me know the path to travel for future projects. Scope creep although I have experienced it but I did not know what it was called but now I know what to expect since these variable require management in any and all projects

Every Project Requires the Managementof 5 variables: Time, Resources, Expertise, Quality, and Scope(Budrovich)

Project tasks and responsibilities are measures taken by project managers and Instructional Designers too. Reading much of the content throughout this course reminded me of the instructional design process, specifically the tasks and responsibilities below.

A project that experienced issues
related to scope creep was also one that felt much like a roller coaster ride.
It was participating the in the production of the Back to Class 2012. B2C is an
event where a variety of groups and individuals performed. Singing, dancing,
rapping, stepping or speaking is what each performance was composed. Work began well with the initial core of the
planning team. After consulting with the production team for the event, the
production team grew in numbers and the scope began to creep. Everyone had a
unique addition to include in the show.
There was several specific scope creep
issues occurred that occurred.
Specifically the addition of more acts/ participants caused the scope to
creep. Instead of keeping things simple of course things were complicated;
furthermore the scheduled timeframe was yo-yoed, expanding and constricting
throughout the process. At first it was scheduled for only 2 hours then grew to
four, but finally settling at three hours in length. Luckily we didn’t have to
fight for time because there were no other events scheduled on the date of the
event, none before or after it concluded. Then, with the many additions the
rehearsal schedule was a challenge to complete because as the event drew closer
everyone had to complete rehearsals in order to sequence the acts properly.

How did you or other stakeholders deal
with those issues at the time? Although this was stressful for me at times
because I was one of the individuals overseeing the production and participating
in it as well; however, Stakeholder expectations’ grew; however, they handled
the issues well. They did want to be informed about the ongoing status of
preparations for the performance. The stakeholders wanted to know the course of
action and if the actions were done as promised.

Looking back on the experience now, had
I been in the position of managing the project, I could have done to better
manage these issues and control the scope of the project by organizing and
communicating the plan effectively. Furthermore, completing assumptions related
to the production and also schedule preparations well before the production
should take place. That year we began preparing later than we should. We began
preparing at beginning of summer for the act to take place at the first weekend
of the fall. Spring preparations would work better to ensure everything was
organized and well put together. Risk assessments and resource allocation plans
that were documentable instead of verbal conversations would help to see the
plan and stick to it.

concisely understandable. Wordy, yet clear about what is needed and how it affect
all parties included. The voicemail is clear
and easier to listen to what is said vs seeing and reading the email. Written
communication skills are a major factor in effective written communication. Voicemail
attitude and tonality expresses the need in a polite respectful but important
manner. They both are documented communication. Mental documentation takes
place in the face to face, unless there is recorded documentation to follow. In
the F2f meeting spirit and attitude, tonality and body language improve the
message. Facial expression and language are used is effectively communicated to
express the needs of the requestor. Spirit, attitude and tonality are

Some things that can emphasize urgency in the email is increasing the priority

member that ended up leaving the group caused flow to slow down and strain on
how to back track to fill gaps that were supposed to be fulfilled by the fifth
member. However the fact that his took
place made the project even more gratifying because of the way the team
weathered the storm to produce a high quality end result. The obstacles were efficiently
resolved to keep project on target for promised due date. That experience has
helped me to be interested and aware of understanding scope creep. The project
was one interesting exciting and rewarding experience
